Aqua Venta is a water-side plumbing service covering Cottingham and the villages around it. We handle the everyday water jobs — leaks, taps, toilets, blocked wastes and radiators — by appointment, so you get a proper booked slot rather than a vague promise. We're a trading style of MY VITA Ltd, and we keep it plain: water plumbing only, honest pricing, and a phone-first way of working.
Cottingham is one of the largest villages in England, and it shows in the mix of property we get called to. There are rows of Victorian and period homes around the village centre, King Street and Hallgate, plus a lot of newer family housing spreading out towards Willerby and Skidby. The older the house, the more we tend to find tired plumbing behind it — lead-to-copper joints, painted-over stopcocks and pipework that's been added to over decades. We know what to expect under a Cottingham floor, and we fix it without drama.
What we do
We cover the full range of domestic water plumbing:
- leaks & burst pipes — tracing where the water's actually coming from and stopping it
- blocked drains — sinks, basins, baths and waste pipes
- toilet repairs — running, leaking or refusing to flush
- tap repairs — drips, stiff handles and full swaps
- radiators — cold spots, leaks and valve changes (the water side, not the boiler)
You can see the lot on our plumbing services hub. One thing to be clear on — we're not Gas Safe, so we don't touch gas or boilers. If it carries water, it's our job; if it burns gas, that's a Gas Safe engineer.
Why a local water-side plumber
Being close by matters in Cottingham. We're a short hop from Hull and Beverley, and right by Castle Hill Hospital, so getting to a HU16 address doesn't mean a long drive or a big travel charge. Because we focus purely on water, we're quick at the jobs that actually flood a kitchen or soak a ceiling — a split pipe, a failed flexi-hose, an overflowing loo. If a leak has already done damage, we also hire out drying gear same-day — see drying after a leak — so floors and plaster can start drying out straight away rather than sitting wet.
Landlords & student lets
Cottingham has a big rental scene thanks to the University of Hull — plenty of student houses and HMOs around the village, and a lot of landlords managing several tenancies at once. We're set up for that. We can book in repairs between lets when a property's empty, sort the niggles that build up over a tenancy — dripping taps, slow drains, dodgy toilets — and give you a straight answer on what needs doing and what can wait. No upselling, no inventing problems. If you manage student lets in Cottingham and want a plumber who turns up when booked and bills fairly, that's us.
How booking works
It's appointment-based, not a 24/7 call-out line. You phone, we find you a slot, and we turn up. If you've got an active leak right now, turn the water off at the stopcock first — usually under the kitchen sink or near the front door in most Cottingham homes — and then ring us to book in. That stops the damage while we get to you. We're upfront about pricing before we start, so there are no surprises at the end.
Areas we cover
Cottingham and HU16 are home turf, and we also cover the surrounding villages and suburbs — Willerby, Anlaby, Skidby and Dunswell — plus across into Hull and Beverley.
To book a Cottingham plumber, call Hull on 01482 680247 or Scunthorpe on 01724 501258. Tell us what's happening and we'll get you booked in.
